Samsung has expanded its Sound Tower lineup with the launch of two new models, the ST50F and ST40F, designed to deliver powerful sound and dynamic lighting for parties and large gatherings. The announcement follows the recent release of JBL’s PartyBox 720, signaling an active season for high-performance party speakers.
Both Sound Tower models feature a redesigned acoustic structure equipped with dual dome tweeters enhanced by Samsung’s Waveguide technology, aimed at producing a broader and more balanced soundstage. Complementing the tweeters are dual woofers, which allow users to adjust bass output across three distinct profiles: Deep, Punchy, or Gentle. In addition, four sound modes — Standard, Wide, Stadium, and Outdoor — offer further flexibility, enabling listeners to optimize audio performance for different environments.
The audiovisual appeal extends beyond sound, as Samsung integrates its Party Lights+ system into the speakers. This lighting feature provides five preset moods and six dynamic patterns, with LEDs distributed across five exterior zones of the speaker. The lights synchronize with the music’s rhythm, creating a coordinated display. Control is handled through the updated Samsung Sound Tower app, which also manages extra entertainment options like DJ Booth and Karaoke modes. Musicians can connect a guitar directly, underscoring the system’s versatility.
The two models are distinguished by size, portability, and endurance. The larger ST50F incorporates wheels and a telescopic handle for transport, alongside a battery life of up to 18 hours. It also houses bigger woofers at 6.5 inches, compared to the 5.25-inch woofers of the ST40F. The smaller unit features a simple carrying handle and supports up to 12 hours of playback. Both speakers are rated IPX4 for water resistance, meaning they can withstand splashes but are not suited for full exposure to water.
Pricing reflects the differences in power and features: the ST50F retails for $700, while the more compact ST40F is available for $500. With their combination of customizable sound, synchronized lighting, and portable design, Samsung’s new Sound Tower models target consumers seeking immersive audio-visual experiences for social events, whether indoors or outdoors.
