JBL is expanding its portable and party speaker lineup with the launch of three new models designed to cover a wide spectrum of listening needs. At the compact end is the JBL Grip ($99.95), a can-sized, grab-and-go speaker that delivers bold JBL Pro Sound in a rugged, waterproof design. Its 16W output is enhanced with AI Sound Boost to reduce distortion, while up to 12 hours of playback (14 hours with Playtime Boost) ensures long-lasting performance for outdoor activities.
The JBL Grip also features Auracast connectivity for multi-speaker setups or stereo pairing, an integrated rope hook for portability, and a customizable ambient backlight via the JBL Portable App. With an IP68 dustproof, waterproof, and drop-resistant build, the Grip is suitable for a variety of environments and adventure-ready activities.
JBL Grip
On the larger end of the spectrum, JBL introduces the Boombox 4 ($549.95) and the PartyBox 720 ($1,099), designed for more powerful audio experiences. The Boombox 4 delivers nearly 50 percent more output than its predecessor, powered by dual woofers, mid-range drivers, and three passive radiators.
It includes AI Sound Boost, two Bass Boost modes, up to 34 hours of playtime with Playtime Boost, Auracast multi-speaker pairing, and an IP68-rated waterproof and dustproof design. The Boombox 4 is also lighter than previous generations, making it easier to transport for outdoor gatherings.

JBL Boombox 4
The PartyBox 720 represents JBL’s largest battery-powered party speaker, delivering 800 watts of Pro Sound alongside an immersive dynamic lightshow that syncs to the music. Its battery system supports up to 15 hours of playtime with dual replaceable batteries, and it features inputs for microphones, guitars, and DJ consoles. Auracast™ connectivity enables multi-speaker setups, while the updated design with wider wheels and an ergonomic handle improves portability for large events.

JBL PartyBox 720
Together, these three models—from the ultra-portable JBL Grip to the high-output Boombox 4 and PartyBox 720—showcase JBL’s versatility in delivering Pro Sound solutions for any situation. Each speaker combines durability, portability, and advanced audio technologies, ensuring options for casual outdoor listening, backyard gatherings, or full-scale parties. The JBL Grip is available for pre-sale now, with wide release on September 28. The PartyBox 720 and Boombox 4 are also available for pre-sale, with on-shelf dates set for September 21 and September 28, respectively.
