Warp Solution Pushes RF Wireless Charging to New Heights Ahead of CES 2026

We first met Warp Solution back at CES 2020, when the Korean startup was introducing its vision of wireless charging without pads or cables. At the time, the idea of powering devices through the air with RF (radio frequency) energy felt futuristic, especially compared to the familiar Qi pads that required phones to stay stuck on a surface.

Most people are familiar with Qi wireless charging, the standard found in smartphones and accessories. Qi uses magnetic induction, which requires the device to be placed directly on a charging pad. Power transfer happens over a very short distance—usually just a few millimeters.

By contrast, RF (radio frequency) wireless charging works more like Wi-Fi. Instead of magnetic fields, it uses radio waves in the GHz range to transmit energy across a room. That means devices don’t have to stay on a pad; they can be powered while in use, even from several meters away. This opens the door to charging multiple devices at once, without plugs, cables, or battery swaps. This opens the door to devices that would always be charged, without user intervention – a dream for many consumers.

Five years later, the company has made remarkable progress. Back in 2020, their prototypes could deliver just a few watts of usable power. Today, Warp Solution’s custom GaN-based (gallium nitride) RF chips are scaling up to hundreds of watts on a single chip, with a roadmap that points toward 1 kilowatt of wireless power by 2028. That leap in wattage is impressive, but it also highlights a new challenge: educating consumers that high-power wireless charging can be safe.

To address safety concerns, Warp Solution has developed an AI-based security system that utilizes a camera to track individuals and objects. If a person is in the beam’s path, charging pauses automatically. Combined with beamforming and SAR (specific absorption rate) monitoring, this approach reassures regulators and helps alleviate public concerns about invisible energy transmission through the air.

Another smart move from Warp Solution is showing off localized proof-of-concept (PoC) products. These include wireless charging lamps, power banks, hotel security systems, and even roadside safety devices. By limiting RF charging to controlled spaces—such as a hotel lobby or a parking lot—the company can build confidence in the technology, step by step, rather than asking consumers to accept whole-home air charging overnight.

Beam Pilot is a proof-of-concept demonstration that shows how RF charging could work in everyday settings, such as smart homes, factories, or healthcare environments. By confining the wireless power transmission to a localized space, WARP Solution demonstrates both the safety (avoiding stray energy) and the usefulness (multi-device charging without cables) of the technology.

“IT’S A NEW CHARGING PARADIGM”

For this new type of RF charging to work, devices themselves need to be designed differently. Unlike Qi, where any phone with a built-in coil can work on a charging pad, RF charging requires specialized chips and rectifiers inside the device to capture and convert radio waves into usable power. These components are developed by Warp Solution, meaning manufacturers will have to integrate Warp’s technology directly into their products.

It’s a new charging paradigm—more like adding a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth chip than simply including a charging port—and it will take cooperation between Warp Solution and major device makers for the ecosystem to grow.

The main obstacle today is not the technology itself, but the lack of unified global standards. Right now, only the U.S. and Japan have clear regulatory frameworks for RF power transmission. Korea is still reviewing its own sandbox approach, but industry groups are moving forward, and standardization efforts are gaining momentum across Asia-Pacific and beyond. Once these administrative hurdles are cleared, commercialization should accelerate.

At CES 2026, Warp Solution will showcase its latest AI-powered RF charging platform, with real-time camera tracking, dual-axis beamforming, and its proprietary MFMC (Multi-Frequency Multi-Charging) technology. The company’s goal is to secure global partnerships and lay the foundation for mass adoption, positioning itself as a leader in the future of true wireless charging.
