Oscar Isaac Is Ready to Be a ‘Star Wars’ Again

Oscar Isaac is a perpetually busy actor, and though he’s made his share of dramas, he’s particularly beloved by genre fans for his work in that realm: Dune, Moon Knight, Ex Machina, the Spider-Verse series, and even those animated Addams Family movies. But atop that mountain sits Star Wars, featuring Isaac as rebel pilot Poe Dameron across the sequel trilogy. With Poe surviving the events of The Rise of Skywalker, might there be a chance fans will see him again?

Speaking to Variety in a new interview about Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, featuring Isaac as monster-maker Victor Frankenstein, he was asked if he’d ever return as Poe Dameron. In response, the actor went right to another big franchise: The Simpsons. (Somehow, he hasn’t done a voice on the long-running show?)

Specifically, he does a Ralph Wiggum imitation, since the piece describes him using “a high-pitched child’s voice” to reply, “I’m a Star Wars.”

All joking aside, though, he went on to add, “Yeah, I’d be a Star Wars again if there was something good to do with that.”

It’s just an aside in the article—which is full of fun details about Frankenstein—and it’s something Isaac has commented on before, but it’s still an intriguing idea. Earlier this year, fellow sequel star John Boyega said at a fan convention that he was also tentatively open to returning to Star Wars, despite his less-than-pleasant experience with its more toxic fans.
